Weather Summary (Northborough, MA): Heavy rains dominated this season, and were reflected in the mosquito population numbers. Statewide monthly rainfall averages were as follows: May-3.70” (CMMCP/Northborough 3.06”); June-5.30” (CMMCP/Northborough 5.26”); July-2.71” (CMMCP/Northborough 1.73”); August-9.35” (CMMCP/Northborough 11.44”); September-6.65” (CMMCP/Northborough 6.79”).

There has been 6.79 inches of rain accumulated in September, while the total rainfall for the month of August was 11.44 inches.

Weather Summary (Northborough, MA): The weather for this particular week averaged 67.83F with a recorded high temperature of 85.0F and a recorded low temperature of only 53.0F. For this week there was also a total of 2.95 inches of rain observed. Compared to the previous week, it was approximately 2.60F cooler on average, and rained about 1.44 inches more. There has been 11.44 inches of rain accumulated in August, while the total rainfall for the month of July was 1.73 inches. For the year we have received 54% more requests than average; 12,341 requests to date compared to the 8 year average of 8,012. Requests were 26% more than the 2010 totals, 12,341 in 2011 against 9,777 in 2010. Service requests increased 7% from EPI week 33 to Epi week 34 for 2011 (343 vs. 318).

Weather Summary (Northborough, MA): The weather for this particular week averaged 70.43F with a recorded high temperature of 85.3F and a recorded low temperature of only 53.2F. For this week there was also a total of 1.51 inches of rain observed. Compared to the previous week, it was approximately 0.30F warmer on average, and rained about 0.61 inches less. There has been 8.49 inches of rain accumulated in August, while the total rainfall for the month of July was 1.73 inches. For the year we have received 54% more requests than average; 11,998 requests to date compared to the 8 year average of 7,794. Requests were 26% more than the 2010 totals, 11,998 in 2011 against 9,543 in 2010. Service requests decreased 11% from EPI week 33 to Epi week 34 for 2011 (318 vs. 353).

CMMCP District information – the 39 cities and towns in the CMMCP service area are broken down into 5 Districts. Each District has a Crew Leader and Field Technician assigned full time. A general description of these Districts would be: District 1 (yellow), Northeast; District 2 (blue), Northwest; District 3 (green), Central; District 4 (red), Southeast and District 5 (gray), Southwest.
