Mosquitoes with
West Nile Virus were confirmed August 4 in a surveillance trap set by CMMCP
in the Sawyer Hill area, north of Rt. 62.
CMMCP catch
basin maps were checked and basins were retreated in the area. Spraying was
performed twice in the affected area on August 4th and 9th.
Horse owners in the area were also visited by a CMMCP technician to alert
them to this finding. See the map below of the sprayed area.
Additional
surveillance traps have been set in the area to gauge population densities
and for additional virus testing if possible.
