Vector Spraying

"Vector" noun

Definition: // An organism, typically a biting insect, that transmits a disease or parasite from one animal or plant to another.

Example: // The mosquito is the principal vector of West Nile Virus.

It’s important to note that spraying can reduce but may not eliminate the threat of mosquito-borne illness in that area. That’s why it’s important for individuals to continue to take personal precautions against mosquito bites — both before and after any spraying is conducted. Absence of positive test results does not necessarily indicate risk is zero. Please exercise caution and use personal protection measures when in areas with mosquitoes.
