EEE risk raised to "Critical" in these 7 communities: Grafton, Hopkinton, Northbridge, Shrewsbury, Southboro, Upton & Westboro. Please alter your outdoor acvtvities away from mosquito's active times; the hours before and directly after sunset and sunrise. Repellents with DEET are most effective. Control options are being discussed and will be announced soon.

State officials announce plans to conduct aerial spraying for mosquitoes in sections of southeastern Massachusetts. Aerial mosquito control spraying is scheduled to begin in Southeastern Mass. on the evening of Thursday, August 8 and over the next few nights between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m. the following morning. Spraying is weather-dependent and evening spray plans and zones are not finalized until late in the day. West Nile Virus has been found in mosquitoes in the Boston area. This is the time of year of greatest exposure to mosquito-borne illnesses in the State. Please be sure to use avoidance techniques and follow personal protections measures whenever you are in areas of possible mosquito exposure.
