Dracut Vector Spray Event September 7, 2018
Dracut 2018: updated 9/10/18 11:11am
Mosquitoes with West Nile Virus were confirmed September 5 in a surveillance trap set August 31 by CMMCP in the eastern part of town. Working with the Dracut Board of Health, truck-mounted Ultra-Low Volume (ULV) spraying was done in the area below on September 7 after sunset.
It’s important to note that spraying can only reduce but not eliminate the threat of mosquito-borne illness in the areas that are sprayed. That’s why it’s important for individuals to continue to take personal precautions against mosquito bites — both before and after any spraying is conducted.
