Lowell Vector Spray Event August 30, 2018

Lowell 2018: updated 8/31/18 8:45am

Mosquitoes with West Nile Virus were confirmed August 29 in a surveillance trap set August 24 by CMMCP in the central part of the city. Working with the Lowell Board of Health, truck-mounted Ultra-Low Volume (ULV) spraying was done in the area below on August 30 after sunset.

It’s important to note that spraying can only reduce but not eliminate the threat of mosquito-borne illness in the areas that are sprayed. That’s why it’s important for individuals to continue to take personal precautions against mosquito bites — both before and after any spraying is conducted.
