Shrewsbury Vector Spray Event September 17, 2018
Shrewsbury 2018: updated 9/18/18 7:59am
Mosquitoes with West Nile Virus were confirmed September 12 in a surveillance traps set September 5 by CMMCP in the northern part of town. Working with the Shrewsbury Board of Health, truck-mounted Ultra-Low Volume (ULV) spraying was done in the area below on September 17 after sunset.
It’s important to note that spraying can only reduce but not eliminate the threat of mosquito-borne illness in the areas that are sprayed. That’s why it’s important for individuals to continue to take personal precautions against mosquito bites — both before and after any spraying is conducted.
