Sturbridge Vector Spray Event September 10 2019

Sturbridge 2019: updated Sept. 12, 2019 10:06am

Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) Virus has been confirmed over the week by MDPH in the towns of East Brookfield and Brookfield. Working with the Sturbridge Board of Health, truck-mounted Ultra-Low Volume (ULV) spraying was done in the area below on September 10 after sunset.

It’s important to note that spraying can reduce but not eliminate the threat of mosquito-borne illness in the areas that are sprayed. That’s why it’s important for individuals to continue to take personal precautions against mosquito bites, both before and after any spraying is conducted.
