Worcester Vector Spray Event August 20 2019

Worcester 2019: updated Aug.14, 2019 2:45pm

Mosquitoes with West Nile Virus were confirmed August 14 in a surveillance trap set August 6 by CMMCP in the eastern part of the city. Working with the Worcester Department of Health, truck-mounted Ultra-Low Volume (ULV) spraying is scheduled in the area below on August 20 after sunset.

It’s important to note that spraying can reduce but not eliminate the threat of mosquito-borne illness in the areas that are sprayed. That’s why it’s important for individuals to continue to take personal precautions against mosquito bites, both before and after any spraying is conducted.
