Worcester Vector Spray Event October 1, 2018

Worcester 2018: updated 10/1/18 7:49am

A resident of Worcester residing in the center/western part of the city was confirmed with West Nile Virus on September 27 by the Mass. Department of Public Health. Working with the Worcester Department of Health, truck-mounted Ultra-Low Volume (ULV) spraying was done in the area below on October 1 after sunset.

It’s important to note that spraying can only reduce but not eliminate the threat of mosquito-borne illness in the areas that are sprayed. That’s why it’s important for individuals to continue to take personal precautions against mosquito bites — both before and after any spraying is conducted.
