Worcester Vector Spray Event September 16 2021

Worcester 2021: updated Sept. 17, 2021 8:05am

Mosquitoes with West Nile Virus (WNV) were confirmed September 15 by MDPH in the Burncoat section of the city. Working with the Worcester Dept. of Health, truck-mounted Ultra-Low Volume (ULV) spraying was done in the area below on September 16 after sunset.

It’s important to note that spraying can reduce but not eliminate the threat of mosquito-borne illness in the areas that are sprayed. That’s why it’s important for individuals to continue to take personal precautions against mosquito bites, both before and after any spraying is conducted.
