Worcester Vector Spray Event September 3 2019

Worcester 2019: updated Sept. 4, 2019 8:03am

Mosquitoes with West Nile Virus (WNV) were confirmed August 28 by MDPH in the eastern and southern part of the city. Working with the Worcester Dept. of Health, truck-mounted Ultra-Low Volume (ULV) spraying was done in the area below on September 3 after sunset.

It’s important to note that spraying can reduce but not eliminate the threat of mosquito-borne illness in the areas that are sprayed. That’s why it’s important for individuals to continue to take personal precautions against mosquito bites, both before and after any spraying is conducted.
