CMMCP statement on PFAS in Anvil 10+10

August 1, 2021: Since the beginning of this issue, CMMCP has been cooperating with authorities by providing all information requested, as well as providing samples of our products to be tested for presence of PFAS. To date, all products tested have not shown to contain any PFAS residues. CMMCP will continue to stay informed of this important issue.

January 5, 2021: No aerial spraying was done in the CMMCP service area in 2020, and the product we use in our residential truck spraying program is called Zenivex E4 (active ingredient etofenprox). We have not used Anvil 10+10 for a few years now in our truck spraying program.

We understand that this is an ongoing, complex issue.  The Mass. Dept. of Environmental Protection (MDEP), Mass. Dept. of Agricultural Resources (MDAR) and the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) are looking into the issue.  EPA is the agency that has authority over the production of pesticides.  As an entity that uses pesticides we use products that have gone through the in-depth registration process and are registered by EPA. EPA has stated that PFAS is not an inert or active ingredient in pesticide products.

MDAR has assured us that they will keep us updated with any new information.  If you have additional questions we can provide you with a contact in Boston that may be able to help.
