Hopkinton Vector Spray Event September 10, 2018

Hopkinton 2018: updated 9/13/18 10:11am

APPLICATION RESCHEDULED TO SEPTEMBER 12

Mosquitoes with West Nile Virus were confirmed September 5 in a surveillance trap set August 30 by CMMCP on the Ashland side of town. Working with the Hopkinton Board of Health, truck-mounted Ultra-Low Volume (ULV) spraying was done in the area below on September 12 after sunset.

It’s important to note that spraying can only reduce but not eliminate the threat of mosquito-borne illness in the areas that are sprayed. That’s why it’s important for individuals to continue to take personal precautions against mosquito bites — both before and after any spraying is conducted.
